Job Description

Accounting Manager will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and providing insights on complex accounting issues. This individual will also play a key role in driving technical accounting memos and reporting processes. This position works collaboratively across teams supporting the accounting and financial reporting functions and advancement of our projects and reports to the Director of Accounting and Reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of accurate and timely financial statements
  • Manage the monthly accounting close process including supervision of preparation and review of account reconciliations, preparation and approval of journal entries and monthly accounting reports
  • Prepare technical accounting memos, providing guidance on complex accounting issues
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in accounting standards and regulations
  • Provide oversight into accounting operations, ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments, including site finance and operations
  • Manage external auditors, quarterly reviews, annual audits for financial and tax reporting
  • Manage third party tax advisors in preparation of tax provisions and tax returns
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or in process
  • 3+ years of experience in public company audits, 2+ years of experience in industry accounting / reporting role. 2+ years in a managerial or supervisory role preferred
  • Big 4 accounting firm experience is highly preferred
  • Strong technical accounting experience, including financial statement preparation and technical accounting memos
  • Understanding of GAAP and/or IFRS, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team-oriented approach
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
